We'll talk with Kathy Michael, McLean County Clerk and Mark Bounds, Recording Division Program Manager about how to use the McLean County Public Record Search - 'Property Check' - to help you and your clients avoid becoming victims to property fraud.

You'll learn how to use this free resource to help clients receive notifications, monitor their property records and spot suspicious activity before it becomes a problem. With title and deed fraud on the rise, this session is a must for real estate professionals, affiliates, and anyone who owns property.

What is property fraud?

Property fraud is a type of real estate scam where someone illegally gains control or ownership of a property—usually through forgery, misrepresentation, or identity theft. The goal is often to sell, mortgage, or rent the property without the rightful owner's consent.
