Empower Hour - Harmony of Habitats: Ecology in Action Center Presentation

Join us on June 26th at 10:00am for an 'Empower Hour' where we will illuminate your mind and empower your success! 

REALTORS® know the importance of not only matching the right people to a house that will meet their needs and desires but of also sharing the community experience of living in McLean County. Educational excellence, responsive governmental leaders, good career opportunities and recreational and cultural facilities all play into helping your potential buyers find our community such a great place to live! However, today more than ever, people want to know more about the environmental quality of life they and their children will be experiencing. 

Following the tragic situation in Flint, Michigan where polluted city water flowed into their home’s faucets or the derailed train that emitted toxins to neighboring towns, people are anxious to know that the air they breath and water they drink are safe. Alternative energy sources that can reduce utility costs are also on many people’s radar. 

We are pleased to have Deborah Pitcher, Development Coordinator for the Ecology Action Center to address our members. She will share some general information on the Ecology Action Center and discuss: 

• some exciting new air quality initiatives being launched this summer, 
• the work EAC is doing in our school’s classrooms throughout McLean County, 
• their tree planting activities, 
• solar energy options and more!

The Ecology Action Center is the not-for-profit environmental sustainability agency for Bloomington, Normal, and McLean County, Illinois. EAC provides education and services in solid waste management and recycling, energy efficiency and renewable energy, clean water protection, air quality improvement, greenhouse gas emissions reduction and climate planning, and more.
